Visiting this website
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA). When you visit it, Vercel processes technically necessary data such as your IP address, the page requested, date and time, and browser information in server logs, in order to deliver the site and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Vercel acts as our processor; transfers to the USA are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
Fonts, scripts and the 3D character are served from this website itself. No third-party content is loaded unless you agree to analytics (see below).
Early access requests
If you request early access, we store your email address, your university or company and your main use case, together with the time of sign-up, where on the page you signed up and your approximate country (derived from the request, not stored as an IP address). We use this only to select early testers, contact you about early access and tell you when Lilo launches. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). The data is stored in a database operated by Neon Inc. on our behalf, on servers in the USA; the transfer is covered by standard contractual clauses.
You can withdraw your consent at any time (reply to any of our emails or write to lilo@drlilo.com) and we will delete your address. Otherwise we delete it once Lilo has launched and the announcement has been sent, or when we stop the project.
Contact form
If you write to us via the contact form or by email, we process your email address, your name if you give it, and your message, in order to reply (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Messages from the form are stored in the same database (Neon Inc.) and forwarded to our inbox via the email service Resend (Resend Inc.), both acting on our behalf. We delete messages when the conversation is finished, unless we are legally required to keep them.
Anonymous usage statistics
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to count page views and measure how fast the site loads. They set no cookies and store no personal identifiers: visitors are counted with a hash that changes daily and cannot be traced back to you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a fast, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Google Analytics (only with your consent)
If you click “OK” in the banner, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) to understand how the website is used, for example which sections are viewed and whether the film is played. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data, which may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA (covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG).
Without your consent nothing is loaded and no cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page. Your choice and your light/dark preference are remembered in your browser’s local storage; no cookie is used for that.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA).
